Dmitry Maleshin

Russian scholar and author in the field of civil procedural law, legal culture, comparative law and legal education. He has authored more than 100 peer reviewed articles as well as contributing to a number of text books and other works.

Currently he is a Professor of Civil Procedural Law at Moscow State Lomonosov University and National Research University Higher School of Economics. He studied law at MSU where he received his PhD (“Candidate of Law” degree) in 2002 and DSc (“Doctor of law” degree) in 2011 by defending his thesis, “The System of the Russian Civil Justice”. He has been a Visiting Scholar at Yale Law School (2004) and Harvard Law School (2008).

Prof. Maleshin is a member of numerous Russian and international associations in the field of civil procedure and legal education, including International Association of Procedural Law, International Association of Judicial Independence and World Peace,  etc. He engages in legislative activities in Russia and different international scholar projects. International academic activity also includes lecturing abroad (e.g., Pavia University, Italy, 2015; Bordeaux University, France, 2016) and administrating the conferences (e.g., Moscow Congress of the IAPL, 2012).

He also acts as a consultant and legal expert in the Russian and foreign civil procedure and ADR.

Editorial board


Mikhail Antonov is Professor of Law associated with the Law Faculty at the National Research University “Higher School of Economics” (Saint Petersburg) where he teaches legal theory and comparative law. He also is executive editor of the Rossiiskii ezhegodnik teorii prava, member of the editorial board of the Pravovedenie, the Review of Central and East European Law, the Rechtstheorie, and of a number of other international scientific journals. Professor Antonov’s research interests focus upon contemporary legal theory, upon the problems of normativity in law and of sociological jurisprudence, on the theory of sovereignty. He holds a Russian university degree of specialist in economics (Presidential Academy of Public Administration, 1999) and in law (Saint Petersburg State University, 2000), a master’s degree in sociology (University Paris V, 2005), and a PhD degree in law from Saint Petersburg State University (2006). He is practising as a member of the Saint Petersburg Bar Association.

Paul Kalinichenko holds a Doctor of Legal Science (Kutafin Moscow State Law University - MSLA, 2011) in International and European Law. He joined the EU law Chair of the MSLA in 2000. In 2012 he was appointed Professor of the EU law Chair of the MSLA. He is a Visiting Professor of the European Study Institute at the MGIMO (Moscow, 2006), Coordinator of theResearchCenter for the European Law at theImmanuelKantBalticFederalUniversity (Kaliningrad, 2012), Head of European Law Department of theDiplomaticAcademy at the Russian Foreign Ministry (2013). His research activities essentially focus on EU external relations law, EU environmental law and EU economic law. Specific attention is devoted to the legal aspects of the Russia–EU relations. Paul Kalinichenko is engaged as a legal advisor in European affairs of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia (2010) and a legal advisor in European law of the Eurasian Economic Commission (2012).
